Logo design and branding, email marketing and literature design
Excell Design were asked to design a new logo for Elwood Wines, an established independent wine merchant, and create a brand guideline for email marketing and literature design. It was decided the name would be shortened to 'Elwood' as this was regularly used by existing customers and that the logo would include not just the descriptor, 'Independent Wine Merchant' but also a graphic device in the form of a bottle. Two primary colours were chosen for the logo and branding and applied to various online and printed marketing to give them a distinct and recogniseable brand.
With 25+ wines to taste at two annual events each year it is important to have a bespoke and useful tasting guide to the wines. We designed an A5 brochure printed on individual cards and tied together with a soft leather tie to reflect the quality and uniqueness of the wines on show. This coupled with complimentary photography helped to bring an air of prestige to these bi-annual events.
With regular email marketing sent out it was important to make sure the emailers were clear and to the point with their content and that they invited the viewer to click through to the website in order to buy or read up on the the wines and events that Elwood market.
A tasting guide is produced for the summer and winter wine tasting events that Elwood put on, containing tasting notes and a price list and order form. These are carried around by the attendees during the tasting and serve as a reference to the wines on offer and as a reminder of what they have tasted and liked.
